
Out transponder supports ES for ADS-B(out) but cannot be changed from SIL=0 so we are stuck with that. The GA air and ground systems should see it and that is what counts. But commercial systems will anyway see the transponder which is the primary (and mostly only) system that radars and airliner TCAS uses so that takes care of that risk.

Airliners and fast jets are a minor issue to us although from the other side of the risk equation they may think we are high risk to them. This solution (if it works) is cheaper than purchasing the Garmin certified GTX 345 ADS-B in/out Transponder and a power Flarm, Also has the added advantage for me, in that it talks to the Garmin G3X and GTN equipment. This only gives the ADS-B out but it takes its GPS source from the GTN 750 so I get a SIL 1 rated ADS-B out, which won't be ignored by Air Traffic services and TCAS systems., The AT1 traffic should mop up all ADS-B in signals. My ADSB out is a certified Garmin GTX 335 transponder. Down side is there are two Flarm antennas (I have opted for the fixed blade RAMI Flarm Antennas (one on the top and one below) and a GPS antennae which is a cheap (under the cowling) unit. It is about the same price as power Flarm. I have tested a demo program from an ipad which transmits dummy traffic to the device. Check out Still building so don't know if it works.

It also talks to the Garmin G3X and GTN devices which means I get the Flarm and ADS-B on the GTN750 and or on the G3X screens. Hi Mickey I have opted for the AT1 Air Traffic device.
